Members of Congress should be taken seriously. When Lauren Boebert and five other members of the far Right in the U.S. House are implicated in helping the architects of the January 6 riot, those allegations warrant further investigation. However, we don't need further evidence that Boebert, for example, supports the Big Lie and recklessly foments insurrection: her words are there for everyone to see.

Rhetoric like that has consequences—something that Donald Trump and, one hopes in time, Lauren Boebert, will learn the hard way.

It's shocking to have such a reckless and irresponsible person occupying a seat in Congress, voting on and influencing national policy. That's why, despite everything we already know about her, it is still shocking to see Boebert say something as insane and extreme as proposing military action on American soil:

Lauren Boebert is a risk to national security and must not be allowed to return to government after we defeat her next year.
