Happy birthday to me!
I’ve already gotten an incredible present - watching this team step up in full force to support my birthday fundraising push for the National Network of Abortion Funds.
But it wouldn’t be a birthday without a few more gifts. So how about it: If you haven’t had a chance yet, will you make a donation of any amount to the National Network of Abortion Funds right now? [[link removed]]
This organization is doing such important work on the ground to break down barriers to necessary care, and I’m really proud that so many of you have seen its value and contributed what you could.
If you didn’t see my email yesterday, take a look below, and then please consider celebrating my birthday with the gift of giving.
Thank you!!
Sara

Friends, my birthday is tomorrow!
I know what you’re thinking - she’s going to ask us to sign her birthday card and then ferry us over to a donation page and ask for money. Not today. (To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with political campaigns raising very necessary resources and celebrating people’s birthdays! This just isn’t that email.)
For my birthday, I’d like to fundraise for the National Network of Abortion Funds. [[link removed]]
I’m not setting a specific goal - I’m just asking all of you to take a moment and think about this organization, and then be as generous as you’re able to be.
Here’s what they do:
- Remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access.
- Support nearly 100 local organizations around the country to direct funds where they’re most useful.
- Center their work on the intersectionality of racial, economic, and reproductive justice.
I’ve said this many times before and I’m not stopping anytime soon: Abortion rights are a kitchen table issue.
And while I am going to work as hard as I possibly can in the halls of Congress to restore and expand those rights, this is a battle that has to be fought on many grounds in order for us to win. Passing legislation to codify the rights of Roe and to protect people who need and want reproductive care is incredibly important - and we need to support people doing the work on the ground in our communities to secure access to care.
So today, a week after what would’ve been Roe v. Wade’s 50th anniversary, I hope you’ll join me and donate any amount you can to the National Network of Abortion Funds. [[link removed]]
Thank you for anything you’re able to give. Being together in this fight gives me hope.
