Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Program Reopening Feb. 8
The Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Electronics Recycling program at the Landfill will reopen for service on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Drop-off service will return to regular operating hours for all Prince William County residents on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekly.?

Universal Human Rights Day Celebrated in Prince William County
The Prince William Human Rights Commission recently celebrated Universal Human Rights Day while also marking 30 years of service to the residents of Prince William County.
Prince William Board of County Supervisors Chair At-Large Ann Wheeler welcomed about 100 people to the McCoart Government Center to commemorate the day and recognize five people and organizations who promote and express the principles of human rights.

National Burn Awareness Week is Feb. 5-11
According to the American Burn Association (ABA), burn injuries remain one of the leading causes of accidental death and injury in the U.S., with children, the elderly, and the disabled most vulnerable to burn injuries. Primary causes of these types of injuries are fire-flame, scalds, contact with hot objects, and electrical and chemical; these occur mostly in the home.

Prince William County Department of Public Works Wins Award for Installing a Bandalong in Neabsco Creek
Tim Hughes, an environmental specialist with the Prince William County Public Works Department, recently accepted a Project of the Year Award from the American Public Works Association Mid-Atlantic Chapter.
The association?s 2023 project award in the ?Environment Less than $5 Million? category was for installing a trash collection system called a Bandalong in Neabsco Creek.
