Folks — the other day, the New York Times published an op-ed about Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, “Anti-Gay? Anti-Science? Antisemitic? Run for Governor of North Carolina!” and I wanted to share this line with you:
The 2024 governor’s race in North Carolina just got underway. You care.
Not because this state is the nation’s ninth most populous, though that’s reason enough. But because what happens here is a referendum on how low Republicans will sink and how far they can nonetheless get.
Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson … [is] extremism incarnate: gun-loving, gay-hating and primed for conspiracy theories, with a garnish of antisemitism to round out the plate.

The stakes of our race are clear: Will North Carolina move forward, or will our progress be undone? Will tolerance and unity prevail over bigotry and division? Will our political leaders defend democracy or undermine it?
Folks, I’m grateful that so many grassroots supporters like you already understand just how important our election is to the future of our state.
Over the last week, more than 367 of you stepped up to help our campaign meet our first end-of-month fundraising goal!
I’m humbled by the enthusiasm we’ve seen in just the few weeks since our campaign began, but I know we have a long way to go.
That is why I have to ask again. If you are able to, consider making your first gift of any size to help start off February strong. Click here to donate.
Your support will make an important difference in this campaign, friend. I’m grateful to have you with me.
Thanks,
Josh
