The Humane League

Hi,

Ben here.

Long story short—I’m doubling all new monthly gifts to The Humane League right now. I’ll keep it brief, but I wanted to introduce myself and explain why I’m emailing you today.

Years ago, I came across the writing of philosopher Peter Singer. His argument clicked with me instantly. I realized that an animal’s suffering matters just as much to that animal as my suffering does to me.

I’m sure you understand this too. That’s why you’re here. And that’s why I’m writing to you, personally, with an urgent request.

We have a moral obligation to end the systemic animal cruelty happening in our food system today. This means facing off against a formidable opponent: the status quo.

And changing the status quo is up to you.

Ending the suffering of animals like her ^ means going after some of the biggest companies in the world. Their products are everywhere you look—supermarkets, cafeterias, convenience stores. They have real power. And so do we—but only when we all decide to work together.

That’s why I’m matching all new monthly gifts made by February 28th—from now through the end of 2023. Because monthly gifts are the pulse of this movement. Consistency really is key—providing the ongoing support necessary to take on the emergency unfolding every day on factory farms.

$8 becomes $16
$25 becomes $50
$100 becomes $200

As a member of The Heart Beat community, you’ll provide consistent funding to pressure companies on their animal welfare policies—and then keep that pressure on when it matters most. Right now, when you join, your gifts will be doubled for the rest of the year.

I’m here because of Peter Singer. You might be here because you read a book, or talked to a friend, or connected deeply with an animal in your life. I’m asking you to listen to that voice in your head that brought you here in the first place.

This fight doesn’t happen without you.

You in?

Thanks for reading,

P.S. Singer says: “The Humane League is truly one of the most effective animal charities in the world. And you don’t just have to take my word for it. They’ve been consistently ranked as a Top Charity by Animal Charity Evaluators (ACE) and use an evidence-driven approach to make the biggest impact possible.”
