I know
many of you have purchased seeds from my friends, the Matyas family from Seeds for Generations, so I thought you'd want to hear this.
This past Saturday, they had a devasting fire in their shop building that houses their heirloom seed and gardening business. It looks like an electrical source started it, and since nobody was in the building when it started, it was out of control by the time anyone noticed.
The fire destroyed most, if not all, of their product inventory and office equipment, and they have to start all over again. I don't believe that this is part of any conspiracy to destroy the food chain - it's a tragic accident that happened in an old building.
That being said, it's no less devastating. Seeds for Generations is this family's full-time income, and their efforts also support other small business owners, including gardening experts and homesteaders. The Matyas family is working furiously to get things back up and running as quickly as possible,
ince this is their busiest season of the year.
A friend of theirs was gracious enough to set up a fundraiser for them to help with the many, many upfront expenses they will be facing in the days ahead.
