What to bring:

  • Wear comfortable shoes and warm clothes and bring a rain jacket or an umbrella! The forecast shows a possibility of snow or rain, but we march rain or shine!
  • A reusable water bottle and some snacks (it will be a long day!)
  • Your signs, banners, t-shirts, and flags! We can’t wait to see the full creativity of this movement on display.
  • You should not bring any weapons, or anything that can be construed as a weapon, or any illegal drugs including marijuana.
  • Many attendees may have substance sensitivities, and we will be in close quarters, please avoid smoking or wearing strong fragrances so that all can participate.

Lyrics & Dance:

  • When we arrive at the White House, organizers from the Chilean feminist collective LASTESIS will lead us in a massive feminist flash mob.
  • We will perform the global feminist protest anthem Un violador en tu camino (A Rapist in Your Path).
  • We’ll practice in the morning, but please get a jump-start and learn the dance and the lyrics!

Day-of Alerts:

  • Text “Women Rising” to 40649 to get live alerts during the march that will signal when the moment of silence and performance begins.

Social media sharing:

If you post a photo from the march, please include #WomensMarch2020 so we can add it to our live social media coverage! RSVP to the Facebook event to let your friends know you're there! If you have photos you’d like to share, please email them to us here (must be 18 years or older or have parental permission).

Accessibility:

The ADA meet-up point will be located at the ADA tent in Freedom Plaza. There will be an ADA van to bring those who require it along the march route, as well as ASL interpretation, Spanish captioning, and CART speech-to-text translation on jumbotrons, audio description, and lots of other services. See more about accessibility at the march here.

Thank you so much to each and every one of you for making this possible. We can’t wait to see you tomorrow.
