Federal Agents Searched Penn Biden Center for Classified Documents Back in November

Guess the White House did not feel the need to be transparent about this. CBS: The FBI searched the Penn Biden Center offices in mid-November after lawyers for President Biden had found about 10 documents marked classified there on Nov. 2. The material originated from Mr. Biden’s time as vice president. The FBI search of the think tank was not previously disclosed by the White House, Mr. Biden’s personal attorneys, or the Department of Justice (CBS). New York Post: Although the White House said at the time that searches for records were complete, additional documents were found by Biden’s lawyers and then by the FBI (New York Post).

Biden Cites Pope Francis When Discussing Taxpayer-Funded Abortion
Washington Examiner: The Catholic bishop of Tyler, Texas, denounced President Joe Biden’s “fake Catholicism” and called on the Vatican to weigh in after the president said Pope Francis and some bishops did not oppose taxpayer funding for abortion (Washington Examiner). Greg Price: Reporter: “Catholic bishops are demanding that federal tax dollars not fund abortions.” Biden: “No they are not all doing that, nor is the Pope” (Twitter). Bishop J. Strickland: Mr. Biden can’t be allowed to twist the words of Pope Francis in this way. I implore the Vatican press office to emphatically clarify that Pope Francis rightly calls abortion murder. It is time to denounce Biden’s fake Catholicism (Twitter).

Biden Administration Considering Declaring a Public Health Emergency for Abortion
Daily Caller: President Joe Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is considering declaring a public health emergency to promote abortion access, HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said Monday. The HHS believes it has the authority to declare a public emergency, but it is only one of many options on the table, according to Becerra, who argued there was an ongoing “reproductive health crisis” since Roe v. Wade was overturned (Daily Caller). Axios: The lawmakers argued that such a move would allow the administration to help support states that protect abortion, deploy Public Health Services Corps teams and give the government “the ability to accelerate access to new medications authorized for abortion” (Axios).

Senate Republicans Send Letter to Biden Demanding Spending Cuts
Hill: Nearly half of the Senate Republican Conference has signed on to a letter to President Biden warning they will not vote for any bill to raise the nation’s debt limit unless it’s connected to spending cuts to address the nation’s $31 trillion debt. The letter, led by conservative Sens. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Ted Budd (R-N.C.), says it is the policy of the Republican conference that any increase in the debt ceiling must be accompanied by cuts in federal spending or “meaningful structural reform in spending” (Hill). National Review: Yet the Treasury Department on Monday announced it will increase its borrowing over the first quarter of 2023, despite the country having reached the debt limit. The U.S. will borrow $932 billion in the first three months of the year — $353 billion more than previously projected (National Review).

US Accuses Russia of Violating Nuclear Arms Treaty
Wall Street Journal: Russia has violated the New START treaty cutting long-range nuclear arms by refusing to allow on-site inspections and rebuffing Washington’s requests to meet to discuss its compliance concerns, the U.S. State Department said in a report sent to Congress on Tuesday. The State Department’s finding that Moscow is in “noncompliance” with the accord marks the first time that the U.S. has accused Russia of violating the treaty, which entered into force in 2011. The lack of inspections has also made it harder to verify the number of warheads Russia has deployed under the accord, the State Department added (Wall Street Journal). Axios: The U.S. and Russia mutually agreed in March 2020 to suspend inspections due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, when the U.S. sought to resume the inspections last August, Russia rebuffed the efforts, at least in part due to tensions surrounding the war in Ukraine (Axios).

Steph Curry Attempts to Block Low-Income Housing Near His $30 Million Home
Daily Wire: The Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry is pushing to block a low-income multifamily housing development from being built near his $30 million Bay Area mansion. There are reportedly plans to develop 16 townhouses on a 1.5-acre plot of land near Curry’s home, leading the family to say in a letter that they had “major concerns in terms of both privacy and safety with three-story townhomes looming directly behind us,” according to The Almanac, a local newspaper. Curry reportedly demanded that the town build taller fencing to protect his property and add more landscaping to protect his privacy (Daily Wire). Colin Rugg: Steph Curry moves to block low-income housing near his $30 million mansion. Libs love pretending to care about the poor but the second it inconveniences them, they spit in their face. Shameful (Twitter).

Paypal Prepares to Cut 2,000 Employees
Bloomberg: PayPal Holdings Inc. said it will cut 2,000 staffers as it contends with a macroeconomic slowdown that’s weighed on the firm’s business in recent quarters. The cuts, which will affect about 7% of staff, will happen in the coming weeks, Chief Executive Officer Dan Schulman told employees in a memo. Schulman has been vocal about his plans to improve his firm’s operating leverage — or the ability to grow revenue faster than expenses — and PayPal last year embarked on a cost-cutting initiative that it said would result in $1.3 billion in savings this year (Bloomberg).

New York Post: Alec Baldwin has officially been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of “Rust,” officials announced Tuesday. A damning document filed by prosecutors claimed Baldwin was distracted during firearms training, didn’t need to have a loaded gun during a rehearsal and made a “reckless deviation from known standards and practice” by firing the weapon, which had been accidentally loaded with a real bullet (New York Post).

Gavin Newsom’s Wife Cashes in on Status from California Public Schools
Blaze: California’s public schools aren’t just run by some of Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom’s staunchest allies and beneficiaries, but also serve as theaters for his wife’s leftist propaganda, allegedly paid for in part at taxpayer expense (Blaze). Washington Free Beacon: California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D.) wife has charged the state’s public schools as much as $1.5 million to screen her documentaries on “gender justice” and “corporate exploitation” (Washington Free Beacon). Washington Examiner: The Representation Project, a nonprofit group founded by Jennifer Newsom, has raked in $1,483,001 from licensing fees for a series of documentary films produced by Newsom and the nonprofit group since 2012, according to a report from the government watchdog Open the Books. A significant portion of those fees came from public schools (Washington Examiner).

Biden Pushes EV Tax Credit, which are Worse for Environment
Daily Wire: President Joe Biden was slammed Monday after touting his $7,500 tax credit for electric vehicles while promoting an electric truck that costs over a hundred thousand dollars and has been plagued with issues. Biden’s claims about the tax credit are misleading as the overwhelming majority of new electric vehicles, approximately 70%, do not qualify for the tax credit (Daily Wire). David Zipper: Biden is giving free publicity to the Hummer EV, a 4.5-ton behemoth so inefficient that it pollutes more per mile than a gas-powered sedan (Twitter).
