John, when I think about the issues facing us here in
California, they are the same issues we face as a nation.

The sky-high cost of housing, as folks pay more than half of their income
to keep a roof over their heads — with little left over for retirement,
emergencies, or even just a family outing to see the Dodgers.

The ever-present threat of wildfires, drought, and floods to our
neighborhoods, as we face a global climate crisis.

The lack of resolution for more than 2 million undocumented individuals in
our state after years of Senate dysfunction, and in spite of their efforts
to simply live, work, and raise their families — the American Dream.

The escalation of homophobic and transphobic rhetoric among the far-right
as communities like West Hollywood show the country how to lead on LGBTQ+
civil rights with compassion and grace.

The reproductive healthcare crisis. Californians passed Prop 1 to enshrine
abortion rights into the state constitution, but cannot protect the right
to abortion nationwide without decisive Senate action to codify Roe v.
Wade.

The need to build an economy that works for everyone. Not just the rich
and powerful.

I’m running for U.S. Senate because we need leaders who will put it all on
the line to solve the problems we face. That’s exactly what I am prepared
to do.
