John, We sent this email last week but wanted to make sure you saw it and know that today is the end of the month and an important fundraising deadline for us! *************************************************************************************************** Now that the New Year has arrived and we are rejoicing in your recent support, the 88th Texas Legislative Session kicked off on the 10th with over 1,000 bills filed - leading to more work for YOU in 2023 and the great Lone Star State! And new attacks on our values are already happening! It’s true, a liberal Texas House member (Rep. James Talarico) filed a bill to erase the word “woman” in state law because he thinks men can get pregnant?? But know this, Texas Values Action, our advocacy branch, has ‘boots on the ground’ everyday during the session as the house debates and passes the rules governing procedures for the legislature. This is how we have operated since 2013, and our office is right across the street from the Texas Capitol! What do we do? First, we show up at the Capitol every day of the legislative session. We don’t just sit back and post on social media, we do actual work in the offices of lawmakers, outside the House and Senate Chamber. We are a part of every step of the legislative process (except voting on and signing legislation). We help House and Senate members come up with legislative solutions to issues of concern to Texans, such as children being forced to have sex change operations and lose body parts forever (gender modification). We help draft the words of legislation, provide legal analysis, organize press conferences, testify at committee hearings, and help other Texans organize and execute these and similar tasks. We support our state lawmakers who share our values and assist them in the process of passing good bills, while working to stop harmful or dangerous bills from moving forward. But we can’t do it without your help! Please make a donation today. Other Priorities for Texas Values Action this session are: protecting women’s sports at the collegiate level; School choice and parental rights; religious freedom; and protecting our pro-life laws and culture. in more stand worthy news … Our Save Women’s Sports rally coalition effort took place Thursday, January 12th, in San Antonio. Texas Values Action hand delivered a petition with over 10,000 signatures to NCAA officials showing concern of men competing in women’s sports. And shown here is the group standing strong! "Texas Values (Action) will be the leading organization to make sure that our state law is clear that men cannot compete in women’s sports, and if the NCAA is going to take their national convention in our home state of Texas then we want them to discuss sports on our terms and that’s making sure that sports are fair and upholding Title IX rights.” —Mary Elizabeth Castle; Director of Government Relations The rally made national attention with news outlets like ESPN, Washington Post, Daily Caller, CNN, and many more. The NCAA banned us from having a booth at the convention, but we won’t let Texas women be silenced. We will continue to stand strong with our position! And as the year continues, we would like to invite you to join us on Monday, March 13th, 2023, for a day of education and advocating for faith & family values at the Texas Capitol. Click Here to get your tickets! Do you share our determination to continue to fight for our faith, family, and freedoms? If so, I ask a simple request—to give the biggest gift you can. We must have strong financial support during these critical 100+ days that remain of the Texas Legislative Session. Remember that every day Texas Values Action is the only group on-site and on-mission at the Texas Capitol to protect Texas values. Our success will take your prayers and financial partnership. Will you send that most generous gift today? Thank you for taking a big TEXAS stand! Faithfully, Jonathan Saenz President, Texas Values Action P.S. Please send your generous gift at once to let our team in and at the Capitol jump into protecting our freedoms and values while there is still time. |
