Today marks the second anniversary of Country First, which I founded in the wake of the attack on our Capitol. And while we've made big strides in awakening and activating the Reasonable Majority, the threats from two years ago persist.

Just this month, we witnessed the U.S. Congress descend into chaos as it failed for days to elect a Speaker for the first time since just before the Civil War.

Then, we watched key positions and committees traded away to the most toxic and reckless MAGA extremists in Congress, with Donald Trump getting all the credit.

Then, just yesterday, Donald Trump moved to consolidate support from top Republican leaders for his presidential campaign, despite being a huge threat to our democracy.

And now, emboldened by their majority and recent Biden controversies, Trump and his MAGA extremists are doing everything in their power to take full control of our government in 2024.

We all know what they think of American democracy -- Trump even said we should "terminate" the Constitution if it's necessary for him to be in power.

What happened to the Grand Old Party of Lincoln? What happened to our country having two healthy, sane political parties? The current situation has become so dangerous, and none of us can afford to bury our heads in the sand and just hope it goes away!

I, for one, have refused to be silent, and was even willing to sacrifice my own re-election to put everything we've got into defeating those who betrayed our country.  We had great success in 2022, but we've got even more important work to do in 2023 and 2024.

Country First has a bold cutting-edge plan to take on and take out the most toxic partisans in Congress and ensure Donald Trump gets nowhere near the Oval Office ever again: In the primaries.

And while I know it feels like the last election just ended, the foundation for success in 2024 will be built in 2023.  That means educating more voters, getting more voters registered in the party where they can have the biggest impact in their primary elections, and recruiting and training strong, viable candidates to beat the most toxic partisans in the primaries. 

My promise to you: Those working to undermine our democracy will NOT like what we have planned.

That's why I need your support right now, at the beginning of this critical year where we lay the foundation for 2024's victories. Our numbers must be so strong that there is zero doubt that the good people of this country will prevail over Trumpism in 2024. Country First plans to play a major role in that.
