John, I wanted to reach out personally and apologize for the increase in emails you've been seeing from my team this last week. But we wouldn't be trying so hard to reach you if it wasn't important.
Our End of Month Fundraising Deadline is tonight, and we're short $1,621.
But this goal is different – it's our FIRST End of Month Fundraising Goal in 2023. This month has already had its share of chaos, and it's a clear sign of how hard my colleagues and I will have to work to help our constituents. This is just the beginning, and we'll need your help to keep sorting through the mess. In these last hours before the deadline, can we count on your support? [[link removed]]

John, I don't want to sound like a broken record, but this month really has been a series of game after game, stall after stall. Let's review:
FIRST: When my colleagues and I were ready to be sworn in and get to work, it took fifteen rounds of voting for Republicans to elect a Speaker. It hasn't taken that many votes since before the Civil War.
THEN: When we were ready to do what had been done for decades and vote to raise the debt ceiling, Republicans had a different idea.
Because we couldn't reach a consensus, the Treasury Department declared "extraordinary circumstances" to keep the economy afloat. This is the second time in two years that Republicans have put furthering their own agenda over helping the American people.
NEXT: When we were finally in a place to help working class Americans, Republicans proposed the Fair Tax Act.
This bill not only proposed the abolishment of the IRS, but proposed a 23% national sales tax. Even worse, experts say that because of the way the tax is calculated, people would actually be paying closer to 30% more on their everyday purchases.
NOW: We've made it through the first month of Republican nonsense, and it shows no sign of lightening up anytime soon.
It's clear we're going to have to work even harder to get people in our communities the help they need this year. But that's exactly why meeting this End of Month Fundraising Goal is so important. With only $1,621 left, will you help us reach our goal before the deadline? [[link removed]]
