Hi there Friend —

February is Black History Month. This year, Conservation Voters of PA is observing Black History Month by organizing several opportunities for our staff to participate in conversations about racial justice and to attend events that celebrate Black History and offer concrete ways to work for racial justice.

It’s important to recognize and celebrate Black history in February and all year long. That’s why we invite our members and supporters to attend an event, especially one held by an organization led by and/or serving communities of color, whether it's one we’ve shared below or another one in your community.

Scroll down for a list of the events we’ll be attending to celebrate Black History Month or you can check it out on our website: [link removed]. Reply back to this email with other suggestions to add to our list!

Black communities and other communities of color have been historically marginalized by redlining and other racist tactics. Today, we see the effects of these tactics plainly: Black Americans are more likely than whites to be impacted by pollution, and Black, brown and low-income communities have been hit first and worse by the impacts of climate change.

Some of the events listed below will shed light on the need for justice in our communities moving forward, and some will celebrate Black American music and culture, both right here in Pennsylvania and across the country. Whichever events you choose to attend, we hope to see you there!

Thanks for all you do,

Hillary Mohaupt
