Hi John,
It seems like just yesterday was New Year’s Eve, but January is almost over. We hit the ground running in January and have big plans ahead in February. We'll go into exactly what we did and what we plan on doing but first, will you make a contribution to help us meet our goal? We're shy of it by $2,223.

In January, we:
- Organized opposition to a Texas bill threatening to ban Iranians from owning property
- Supported the passage of H.Con. Res. 7, a bipartisan resolution with smart approaches for targeting human rights abusers in Iran and calling on technology companies to do more to help the Iranian people
- Supported the Biden Administration in proposing more accurate counting of Iranian Americans for the Census, which we have long advocated for
- Published Human Rights Trackers on executions, hunger strikes, torture, and the release of prominent activists in Iran
- Supported the Treasury Department publishing additional guidance on General License D-2, building on our efforts to support internet freedom in Iran
- Briefed lawmakers in the House and Senate on the situation in Iran and advocated for allowing family remittances and other meaningful solidarity measures
In February we plan to ramp up advocacy on several fronts, including:
- Putting pressure on administration officials to allow family remittances, so families can support loved ones in Iran without fear of breaking U.S. law.
- Staunchly opposition to military action or threats of military action, so the U.S. and Israel don’t make the Iranian fight for freedom more difficult
- Defeating the racist Texas bill which would ban Iranians from owning land
- Continuing our reporting on human rights while doing more to uplift what Iranians inside Iran are fighting for
Your contribution, John, will allow us to keep up our efforts as the uprising in Iran continues. Our advocacy is fueled by small-dollar contributions from folks like you.
