Republican members of the State House introduced the so-called “Clyde Shavers bill” that would make lying about military service a misdemeanor for candidates or lawmakers.
Shift Washington
Friends,

Yesterday, Everett Herald political reporter and columnist Jerry Cornfield tweeted, giving Shift WA a little boost:

This week, 17 Republican members of the State House introduced the “Clyde Shavers bill” which would make lying about military service a misdemeanor for candidates or lawmakers. The penalty for lying would carry a $50,000 fine.

The bill comes after the narrow election of Democrat Clyde Shavers after mainstream media outlets waited days into mail-in voting to acknowledge the story which Shift WA broke a week out from election day. Even after these outlets reported on the story, they buried it and then walked away, in what could only be assumed was their attempt to sway the election's outcome.

Interestingly enough, Cornfield tagged Shift WA in his tweet about the Clyde Shavers bill. Mainstream media outlets may operate as an arm of the Democrat Party – but at least they recognize who broke the story on Shavers’ egregious lies.

Here’s why that matters: today is the end of the month – and we’re behind on our fundraising goal.

We here at Shift WA are doing the work that you cannot trust mainstream media outlets to do – hold Democrats, who control every branch of our state government, accountable to the people. Will you help us keep going by donating $50 today?

Thank you,

The Shift WA team
