Team — While House Republicans weigh making cuts to Social Security and Medicare, I want to make it abundantly clear:

Medicare and Social Security cannot be held hostage by extremists in Washington for personal or political gain.

In NY-18, there are just over 108,000 seniors who rely on Medicare and Social Security to make ends meet and to live their retirement years with dignity. As a country, we made a commitment to provide them the benefits they have earned. We cannot break those promises. The livelihood and economic stability of Hudson Valley seniors shouldn’t be used as pawns in partisan political games.

I won’t let it happen.

Together, we can push back on the far-right’s wrangling to make cuts to vital programs like Social Security. If you’re with me in this, chip in a few dollars to my campaign so we can keep up the pressure on Republicans.

We will not let House Republicans hold Social Security and Medicare, and with it the American people, hostage in negotiations over the debt ceiling. Not now, not ever.

Thanks for standing with me in this fight.

Yours in service,

Pat
