On *Monday,*Ohio Governor Mike DeWine was joined by Lt. Governor Jon Husted at GROB Systems, Inc. to sign House Bill 2 [ [link removed] ].This bill codifies theTechCred and Industry Sector Partnerships programs, and creates the Individual Microcredential Assistance Program.

Also on *Monday*, First Lady Fran DeWineannounced the opening of the Ohio Governors Imagination Library (OGIL) in Cuyahoga County.Any child from birth to age five can enroll to receive a free, newbook from the Ohio Governors Imagination Library every month.

A year ago on *Tuesday*, Governor DeWine and Lt. Governor Husted were sworn into office, where they vowed to serve the citizens of Ohio. Check out theyear in review video [ [link removed] ].
On *Tuesday*, Governor DeWine was joined by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson to announce federal grants to help end homelessness throughout Ohio. They toured Huckleberry House to discuss the various programs offered to support at-risk and homeless youth.

*Tuesday afternoon*, Governor DeWine was joined by Lt. Governor Husted while signing House Bill 4 [ [link removed] ]. This bill requires the Governor's Office of Workforce Transformation to act as a liaison between the business community and the Ohio Department of Higher Education, or the Chancellor of theOhio Department of Higher Education, regarding industry-recognized credentials and certificate programs.

On*Wednesday,*Lt. Governor Jon Husted visitedOtterbein University to help announce a new workforce partnership between the university and ALLOY aimed at upskilling Ohioans.

On *Thursday,*Governor DeWinedelivered remarks at the 35th annual Ohio Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Celebration. The Commemorative Celebration honors Ohioans who work to keep Dr. King's dream alive, and carry out his philosophy of nonviolent social change. The event was sponsored by the Ohio Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Commission [ [link removed] ] with support from the Ohio Department of Administrative Services (DAS).

Also on *Thursday*, Governor DeWine issued aproclamation [ [link removed] ]authorizing specified members of the Ohio National Guard to provide emergency aid to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico after a series of powerful earthquakes caused massive destruction and widespread power outages.
On *Friday*, Lt. Governor Husted provided the keynote address for the Ohio State Highway Patrols 166th Cadet Graduation Ceremony. The Lt. Governor joined Ohio Department of Public Safety Director Thomas J. Stickrath and Colonel Richard S. Fambro, Patrol Superintendent, in recognizing the 42 cadets for completing 30 weeks of intense training at the Academy. Each of the graduates will report to their posts on Sunday, January 19, 2020.
It was a distinct honor to help recognize the 42 cadets graduating from the Academy today as they commit to living a life of service with respect, said Lt. Gov. Husted. Joining the Ohio State Highway Patrol requires a commitment to service in every sense of the word, and I commend the men and women of the 166th graduating class for their dedication and perseverance.
