I’m proud of my record working to end the culture of corruption in Washington. One of the big reasons I decided to run for Congress was because I believed we needed a representative who would fight for the people of this district -- not the corporate special interests.

The truth is, fundraising would be much easier if we played politics as usual. Corporate PACs are happy to give big checks to representatives for their votes in Congress. But this campaign is about ending special interest politics. And since I believe we need to be models of that change, I made the decision early on to reject all corporate PAC money.

Ten years ago, the Citizens United decision unleashed the influence of dark money and special interest corporations like never before seen. We need to crack down on this political corruption. So not only is it important that we reject their money, we need to go the extra step and advocate for a Constitutional Amendment to reverse this disastrous Supreme Court decision.

But this is not something any one of us can do alone. The only we we’ll be able to defeat the powerful interest in Washington is with thousands and thousands of committed supporters who are willing to stand up to this corruption.
