Hello Team,

Can you believe it? January is already over. At the national and state level Republicans have been working hard to reverse all of the progress we've made these past two years. After 15 attempts to elect a Speaker, Kevin McCarthy finally bought off the most extreme elements of his party and has stacked the Oversight committee with the worst of the bunch.  

Here in Virginia, our state Senate has been a brick wall against Republican attempts to restrict women's rights, loosen gun safety laws, and take money away from our public schools. It's a stark contrast to two years ago when Democrats controlled both Houses and passed a $15 minimum wage, ended the death penalty, legalized marijuana, and so much more.

This will be a pivotal year in Virginia. All of our state and local elected officials will be up for election, and we need progressive leaders that Gerry can work with at each level so we can make a Virginia that works for all families.  Creating lasting effective Democratic leadership from the ground-up in 2023 means making investments now - so please donate today before our monthly deadline!
