Hi John,
Do you think federal bureaucrats deserve another 47 per cent?
Union negotiators in Ottawa want a 47 per cent compensation hike over three years. Their demands would cost taxpayers $9.3 billion.
It’s hard to believe that union negotiators could be this out of touch. But you can read the story for yourself on the National Post’s website. Just click this link: https://nationalpost.com/news/politics/federal-union-wants-47-compensation-increase
The Canadian Taxpayers Federation dug up more information not covered in the article.
The increased compensation would average an extra $27,500 for each bureaucrat. Every year.
You need to see what type of benefits these union negotiators want you to pay for.
Government bureaucrats want two weeks of paid leave every year. That’s on top of four weeks of vacation after four years on the job.
Government bureaucrats want bigger “meal allowances.” Do they expect you to pay for them to grab a sandwich out of the fridge?
Bureaucrats also want double-time pay for overtime.
You already pay for their huge salaries and benefits.
"Government spending on public servant salaries and benefits is forecast to climb to almost $55 billion this year - or about $130,000 per full-time employee," according to the Parliamentary Budget Officer.
Now they want you to pay more.
Do you think federal bureaucrats deserve another $27,500 every year? Do you think taxpayers can afford to pay an extra $9.3 billion?
