Featured Funding OpportunitiesRural Energy for America Program Renewable Energy Systems & Energy Efficiency Improvement Guaranteed Loans & GrantsThis program provides guaranteed loan financing and grant funding to agricultural producers and rural small businesses for renewable energy systems or to make energy efficiency improvements. Agricultural producers may also apply for new energy efficient equipment and new system loans for agricultural production and processing.Applications due March 31, 2023, to apply contact one of our local USDA Service Centers!EPA Environmental Justice Grant ProgramsThe Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem-Solving (EJCPS) Program will provide $30 million in funding directly to community-based nonprofit organizations. The Environmental Justice Government-to-Government (EJG2G) Program will provide $70 million in funding to state and local governments to partner with community-based nonprofit organizations. Applications are due by April 10, 2023. Applicants can visit epa.gov/ejgrants to learn more about both programs and join pre-application assistance webinars at the Zoom links below:A webinar focused on EJCPS will take place on February 2 at 6:00 PM.A webinar focused on EJG2G will take place on February 7 at 2:00 PM.FY22 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant ProgramThe primary goal of AFG is to meet the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments and non-affiliated emergency medical service organizations.This funding is for critically needed resources to equip and train emergency personnel to recognized standards, enhance operations efficiencies, foster interoperability, and support community resilience. The application period for the FY22 AFG Program opened on Monday, January 9, 2023, and will close on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at 5 p.m. ET. Small Business Resources2023 Growth Accelerator Fund CompetitionThe U.S. Small Business Administration announced that the 2023 Growth Accelerator Fund Competition (GAFC) application portal is now open! Learn more about the competition and apply between now and February 24, 2023 for an opportunity to receive up to $200,000 in cash prizes for strategic ecosystem partnerships with collaborative approaches to support STEM/R&D-focused entrepreneurs and small businesses.To facilitate relationships between entrepreneur support organizations and potential partners working on similar themes, the SBA is holding a series of mini-convenings each day from February 6-9, 3-4pm EST. The program is open to eligible small businesses as well as not-for-profits in the childcare, arts/cultural, tourism, and hospitality industries located in the City of Albany.The BIG Program will make available flexible, recoverable, reimbursable grants to eligible applicants with qualified projects to assist with costs associated with capital investments. Projects may include but are not limited to interior and exterior renovations preparing a commercial space for an eligible use, and/or machinery and equipment purchases.New York Small Business Development Center (NYSBDC)The NYSBDC provides small business owners and entrepreneurs in New York with the highest quality, confidential business counseling, training, and business research at no cost.The Albany Small Business Development Center serves small businesses in the Capital Region. Since its start in 1984, the expert advisors of the Albany SBDC have worked directly with 26,807 businesses, helping them to invest $495,947,350 in the area's economy, and create or save 14,766 jobs.You can make and appoint for counseling by calling 518-442-7232 or filling out their online form.
