Dear John

Here in the UK we need homes that can keep us warm and help lower emissions.

It’s estimated that about 80% of the homes we’ll live in by 2050 already exist. So one of the biggest challenges we face over the next decade is making sure they’re fit for the future.

Around 26 million homes will need retrofitting to be powered by renewable energy. That includes houses owned by individuals, councils, housing associations and co-ops.

Our partner Triodos Bank offers loans to support brilliant businesses and social enterprises like RUSS, SHAL Housing and North Camden Housing Co-op. Organisations that are on a mission to create energy efficient, affordable homes using solutions like heat pumps, solar panels and insulation.

And you can be part of that too. Find out how to switch your current account to Triodos and know that your money is helping secure a better future.

You’ll also be supporting our campaigns. Because if you open a Personal Current Account, Triodos will donate £60 to us once your balance reaches £100. Eligibility, terms and conditions and a £3 monthly fee apply.

If you’ve already opened an account, you can choose for Triodos to donate £25 to Friends of the Earth for each new Personal Current Account customer who joins on your recommendation.

Your recommended friends can choose to donate £60 to Friends of the Earth too (so that’s a potential donation of £85 between you). Eligibility, terms and conditions and a £3 monthly fee apply.

Thanks so much for everything over the past few months. Especially your support on our new campaign for warm homes in the UK.

Whether you signed a petition, donated or watched our short film on life inside the coldest neighbourhoods – we appreciate you so much.

I hope you’ve had a good January and you’re staying warm this week.

All the best,

Aleanna
