Representatives in the US House recently introduced a bill that would defund Planned Parenthood and redirect funding to community health centers that do not perform abortions.

“The nation’s largest abortion provider has no business receiving taxpayer dollars. Planned Parenthood claims these funds go to healthcare for women, but last year, Planned Parenthood performed a record number of abortions while also reducing the number of well-woman exams and breast cancer screenings it performed,” stated a House Representative.

But interestingly, as thousands of pro-life Americans gathered in our nation’s Capitol recently to celebrate and promote life, many attendees stated that our elected officials should be doing even more for the pre-born.

“We’re seeing so many lawmakers compromise on the issue, and really, this is the greatest human rights issue of all time,” a college student at the pro-life rally stated.  “I think there is so much more that can be done and this needs to be put at the forefront of everything...”

Since 2010, PJIs' Center for Public Policy has worked with state legislators to establish guardrails to protect the pre-born in pending bills and we’ve been very successful in this endeavor.
