The Swiss National Bank Suspends Profit Distribution

Due to the war in Ukraine, the subsequent fight against inflation and big losses, the SNB has suspended the profit distribution. In her video, Hannah points out the effects of this decision.
Why Economists Don’t Much Like Subsidies In recent years subsidies have become socially acceptable again as was the case during the coronavirus pandemic, for example. From an economic perspective, however, it has long been clear that subsidies are an extremely static instrument that is all too often accompanied by market distortions and warped incentives in the allocation of resources.
