Kevin McCarthy is refusing to call on Santos to resign because he holds the smallest majority for any first-time speaker in more than 90 years. He knows that if NY-03 opens up, Democrats could easily win back this seat – putting his Republican majority at risk.

George Santos was able to flip a competitive NewDem congressional district from blue to red by lying about his record, resume, and entire life story. Now, NewDems will be leading the charge to flip his seat blue if and when a special election is called.
