Ring knows its employees spy on our homes!

John,

Ring was just forced to admit that its employees have been spying on Ring users’ homes.1,2

Ring employees have access to 24 hour live stream of user's footage—and we know for a fact that they are watching this footage of people in their homes! And neither Ring nor Amazon (which owns Ring) have taken steps to stop this from happening.

On top of all this, hackers are breaking into Ring cameras and watching people in their home. Ring is partnering with law enforcement and giving police warrantless access to footage. And as Ring cameras spread, it’s becoming impossible to avoid constant surveillance, even if you don’t have a Ring camera.

We have to stop Amazon from selling this dangerous, invasive surveillance tool. Can you donate $30 right now to help stop Amazon and Ring?

Ring CEO Jamie Siminoff said that when he watched the video of the hacker that broke into a Ring camera and harassed an eight-year-old who was alone in her bedroom, he cried. But tears are useless and talk is cheap!

If Mr. Siminoff actually cared about protecting peoples’ security he would make better, safer cameras and stop cozying up to the government to try to sell them access to his surveillance empire. But that’s not his priority, which is why we’re mounting a campaign to make Ring synonymous with security threat.

  • We launched a nationwide campaign to expose Ring that has gotten the attention of journalists and elected officials in dozens of cities across the country.3

  • We issued a product warning to inform the public about the dangers associated with Ring cameras, and to advise people not to buy them.4 And we’ve gotten multiple product review sites to rescind their recommendations.

  • We’re calling on Congress to investigate Amazon—the company that owns Ring—to address the MANY security issues with this, and other products at the heart of Amazon’s surveillance empire.5

We’ve already had a lot of success—more than 30 organizations have signed onto our campaign, more than 40,000 people have taken action, and we’ve gotten dozens of stories in news outlets about Ring’s flaws.

But in order to take down this powerful company, we need to do more. We have a lot of ideas—including legal actions, attention-grabbing publicity stunts, and strategic targeting of local, state, and federal officials to stop the growing partnerships with Ring. But all of this takes time and resources, and that comes from you.

John, please make a donation right now to help take down Ring and stop the spread of Amazon’s dangerous surveillance empire.

Thanks for all you do,

Ayele at Fight for the Future
