John, it seems like every day there are more stories piling on top of the shady past of George Santos. While GOP leaders like Kevin McCarthy try to downplay the reality of the situation, the FEC and the Justice Department are not playing political games. Santos faces investigation for multiple allegations, including campaign finance violations. 

The Republican House majority is precarious, and they are fully aware of that fact. They only have a razor-thin majority, and with a vacated seat due to the death of Rep. Donald McEachin, the notion that Santos could be recalled looms over the party. This is why every vote is so important and paying attention to changes in representation matters so greatly. Two seats gone for the Republicans gives the MAGA GOP even less influence over the House.
