Comrades!

Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 31st at 5:00 PM, with little notice to the public, the Sacramento City Council will be voting to approve the purchase of the "Rook", an armored military vehicle for the Sacramento Police Department. Please join us in voicing opposition to the furthered militarization of SacPD. We are asking folks to support this effort in the following ways:

1. Contact your city council member and ask them to take Item 13 off of the consent calendar for public discussion and a separate vote. You can find the link to your city council member's contact info here.?

2. Leave an online public comment in opposition to the purchase of the Rook. You can submit your online public comment and learn more about the purchase of the Rook here.

3. Give a public comment tomorrow at the city council meeting at 5:00 PM either in-person or over Zoom. You can find the Zoom link and agenda attached here.
