Hi,

We’re glad to see House Speaker Mark Rozzi holding a listening tour and committing to putting an end to the non-stop political games that we’ve seen in Harrisburg.

But even with a Speaker who is prioritizing working for all Pennsylvanians, fossil fuel interests are deeply entrenched in Pennsylvania’s Capitol. We need to remind our new leaders about the priorities of the people who voted for them because the lobbyists representing drillers aren’t going anywhere.

Friend, please sign our petition to Governor Josh Shapiro, Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis, House Speaker Mark Rozzi, and Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward, and let’s ensure a healthy environment for everyone: [link removed]

And if you've signed on already, please forward the message below to your friends and family.

Thank you for adding your voice,

Hi —

Pennsylvanians face serious environmental threats that impact our lives and health – from more severe heat waves and storms to industrial pollution, to contaminated water.

We also have all new state leaders who took the oath of office earlier this month. Right now – while they are establishing their priorities – is a critical moment where we can have an impact.

Remind our new state elected leaders that protecting our shared environment and addressing environmental injustices has the support of residents across the Commonwealth, and ask them to take action by signing our petition today: [link removed]

We teamed up with organizations across the Commonwealth to give our leaders a path forward for tackling the environmental issues harming our residents.

We know that environmental issues don’t affect all our communities equally. We found that heat waves are getting worse and hurt the elderly, low-income people, and Black and brown residents the hardest… That air pollution from big polluters kills more people prematurely in Pennsylvania than any state in the nation per capita, and that the air is more polluted in Black and brown communities…. That one-third of our waters are too polluted for fishing or swimming…. And that aging homes throughout the state contain damaging lead, asbestos, and other environmental toxins that damage the health of the most vulnerable residents who can’t afford costly rehabs.

These are just a handful of environmental issues that cause serious health impacts to communities across our state. And without concerted action, they aren’t going to get any better.

We elect new leaders on the promise that they will prioritize addressing these threats. Now, while they are getting settled into office, we must remind them about the challenges that hardworking Pennsylvanians face every single day, and push them to fight for a healthy environment for everyone.

Sign our petition to Governor Josh Shapiro, Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis, House Speaker Mark Rozzi, and Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward asking for a healthy environment for everyone: [link removed]
