Dear Reader,

“What are you doing after graduation?”

This question has induced panic in many a college senior, especially among the dwindling number who have chosen to major in the humanities.

The F
IRST THINGS junior fellowship is far more than a jobs program for liberal arts graduates, though it has provided gainful employment to talented graduates since its establishment in 2001.

Junior fellows work closely with the editors to publish the print magazine, manage the website, produce our two regular podcasts and other digital media, and execute our educational programs. It is a unique, immersive introduction to the world of journalism and publishing. In addition to this valuable experience, F
IRST
THINGS provides housing and a modest stipend.

If you are a current senior or recent graduate, consider applying today!

To apply, send your resume, a 250-word description of what you want to learn from the fellowship, a writing sample of no more than 2,000 words, and contact information for three references (at least one should know your writing or editorial experience) to [email protected].

Applications are due on Monday, March 13.
