Monday, January 30, 2023 | The Latest Research, Commentary, And News
From Health Affairs

Dear John,

ICYMI, we released an ahead-of-print article from Robert Tyler Braun and
colleagues on the role of real estate investment trusts in staffing US
nursing homes

Employer-Sponsored Coverage During COVID-19

In their January 2023 Health Affairs article, M. Kate Bundorf and
coauthors draw on data from the second year of the pandemic to
investigate trends in health insurance coverage
<[link removed]>
during 2021 and early 2022 among nonelderly adults.

They report that rates of employer-sponsored health insurance coverage
stayed relatively flat in 2021, despite rising employment.

About eight million people gained coverage in 2021 and early 2022, they
estimate, driven primarily by increases in Medicaid and other public
coverage.

Kate Bundorf discussed these findings and more with Health Affairs
Editor-in-Chief Alan Weil on a recent episode of A Health Podyssey

podcast.

Forefront Submissions Announcement

Health Affairs is launching a new Forefront series, Accountable Care for
Population Health, featuring policy analysis, proposals, and commentary
that will inform policies on the state and federal levels to understand
and advance models for accountable care.

The series will include articles exploring the evidence base and the
range of views on various key issues.

The series will run through December 2023.

We are interested in articles that explore what it will take to create
fully integrated, patient-centered, cost-efficient care under the
umbrella of accountable care and how we can address obstacles to doing
so.

We are grateful to Arnold Ventures for supporting this project.
