Flipping the AZ legislature starts today

It’s been a whirlwind first month as Governor of Arizona, but I’ve been excited by the challenge of finally building an Arizona that works for everyone.
In some of my first actions as governor, I reinstated protections for LGBTQ+ Arizonans in state employment or under state contract. In my State of the State address, I revealed we have serious problems with our water supply, and with our housing – and I committed to tackling these tough problems with transparency and honesty.
In my first budget, I committed to putting public education at the forefront again, and to making education funding more equitable for all districts.
None of that should be controversial. But for the Arizona GOP that narrowly controls Arizona’s legislature, their response to my moves was to threaten lawsuits, turn their backs on Arizonans, and throw multiple fits to get media attention.
I’ve said from Day One that I will work with anyone to make our state a better place for all Arizonans, but it’s becoming pretty clear our GOP legislators are not interested in working together to do that. So, we’ve got to work together to vote them out.
Nearly 10 years ago as a state legislator, I co-founded the ADLCC with the mission to elect more Democrats to the state legislature. Now, we’re just one seat away from a Democratic majority in each chamber, and I’m making it my top electoral goal to finally win those seats in 2024 to flip control.
