Dear Friend,
Two weeks ago, we celebrated the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. One of the teachings from Dr. King that remains with me is “I have decided to stick with love . . . Hate is too great a burden to bear.” Along these lines, my investiture speech [[link removed]] earlier this month called for a culture of loving kindness towards one another.
In this spirit, on Tuesday, February 7th from 5-7 p.m. , I, along with former Secretary of State Wayne Williams, will hold a live policy discussion and engage in a respectful dialogue on some of the most difficult questions facing our state–from access to firearms to education to how to utilize and protect Colorado’s natural resources. We will both model respectful engagement and discuss why it matters to the future of our democratic republic. And have some fun doing it.
This discussion will be followed by a screening of a short documentary our office produced that follows four Coloradans with different political views as they engaged in discussion as part of the Unify Colorado Challenge. This documentary will be aired on PBS12 following the event. We would be honored if you joined us for this special event at the Metropolitan State University in Denver.
