Fitzgerald Applauds Passage of Microloan Transparency & Accountability Act

The House passed the Microloan Transparency & Accountability Act, a bill co-introduced by Congressman Scott Fitzgerald with Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02).

The SBA Microloan Program provides loans to small businesses and certain not-for-profit childcare centers, who otherwise would not have access to capital markets, to help start-up and expand. Despite the growth and success of the program, the SBA does not produce adequate data to protect taxpayers' dollars from abuse. We must ensure the program continues to work effectively and that the loans are meeting the needs of low-dollar borrowers, particularly in rural communities.

Fitzgerald Selected to Serve on Key Subcommittees on House Financial Services Committee

I'm grateful to have been selected to the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy, and the Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance. Inflation has caused great pain by significantly increasing the cost-of-living in our communities. Restoring economic security, safeguarding consumers, and fostering the American dream of homeownership are some of my top priorities.

The Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy is responsible for overseeing our financial regulators, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Federal Reserve, and its 12 reserve banks, in addition to identifying policies that grow and stabilize the financial system and broader economy.

The Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance is responsible for overseeing the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Federal Housing Finance Agency, as well as developing policies to increase housing supply and maintaining robust insurance protections for consumers.

Fitzgerald, House Republicans Protect American Energy Security

Biden drained the Strategic Petroleum Reserve by 40% and more than every other president in history combined for political gain. On Friday, House Republicans passed a bill to force the administration to refill it and restore our energy security.

Biden Border Crisis Continues

December marked the worst month on record at the southern border, yet President Biden has spent a total of *three hours* visiting during his entire presidency. The White House isn't even pretending to care anymore.
