I don't take anything for granted.

Since day one, I've been fighting for priorities important to our district including lowering prescription drug prices, protecting our environment, advocating for our public schools, and supporting job growth in our community.

But while doing this work, it's never lost on me that I have to put myself in a position where I need to re-apply for this job and make my case to voters every two years.

In fact, I was reminded of this when one former primary opponent made it pretty clear last week that he is running against me.

I won't let that distract me from working day in and day out to support the communities and the people of this district.

Again, I take nothing for granted. Serving the 3rd Congressional District in Washington is the greatest honor of my life and I will continue the hard work on policy issues that matter and deliver results for our community.

This is my home and I've lived in this community for my entire life -- it's where I'm raising my two young daughters. So it means everything to me to fight for my home.
