Derek is back on Capitol Hill, representing Washington's 6th district, team.
After Republicans' historically long (and messy) House Speaker vote – marking the first time in 100 years that the speaker of the House election has required more than one floor vote – House Democrats are hitting the ground running.
While we can expect Kevin McCarthy and the new Republican majority to continue their attacks on Social Security and Medicare, reproductive rights, voting rights – and more – Derek remains focused on fighting for our values in Congress.
Despite the odds, our team is doing all we can to regain our blue majority in 2024. Soon, we will be coming up on our first end-of-month fundraising deadline of the new year – and of the 118th session of Congress.
