In their first month in the majority, House Republicans have shown us exactly how they plan to govern the House.
After a protracted and embarrassing Speaker election, they’ve passed legislation that offers tax breaks to their rich friends and donors and attacks reproductive freedom nationwide.
Instead of addressing inflation, cutting costs, or creating jobs, they’re putting their energy into baseless political “investigations”.
You and I both know that people are sick and tired of negativity in politics… They want leaders who focus on governing, not scoring petty political points. That’s what I’m dedicated to doing every day. As our new Leader, Hakeem Jeffries put it, I’m in Congress to champion normalcy instead of negativity, democracy instead of demagogues, and economic opportunity instead of political extremism. That’s what I want to see Congress get back to.
That’s why it’s critically important to retake the House majority in 2024, so we can get back to delivering for the American people.
We’re up against our first big test of 2023: The end-of-month fundraising deadline on Tuesday. We need to raise another $10,000 by the end of January to stay on track with our goals, and I’m asking you to step up.
We know that seats like mine will be targeted in 2024 and our race will be just as difficult as it was in the midterms. But if we can protect swing seats like mine and flip just a handful of seats, we will retake control of the House so we can get back to work.
