John,
In case you didn’t know, this is my mom, Joy:
When I was just 3 years old, we lost my dad to a treatable illness. Despite this shocking and heartbreaking tragedy, my mom carried on and raised my sisters and me, doing everything in her power to give us the opportunity to achieve our dreams.
She believed in me before I believed in me, and I wouldn’t be where I am today — a U.S. Army combat veteran, Rhodes Scholar, former small business owner and leader of one of the nation’s largest poverty-fighting organizations, and Governor of Maryland — if it wasn’t for her love and support along the way.
Everything I am, I am because of her. She embodies strength, selflessness, and love, and I’m forever blessed by all she has given me, and the lessons she has taught me.
Today is my mom’s birthday, and I want to show her how special she is. Will you add your name to sign my mom’s virtual card and wish her a happy birthday?
Thanks so much for helping me make today a happy birthday for my mom.
Elevate,
Wes
