Look, Joe Biden understands how important Medicare is for older Americans and individuals with disabilities. And he understands how important Medicaid is for millions of the most vulnerable Americans including individuals in nursing homes.

That's why his health care plan will strengthen and protect these crucial programs.

A Biden Administration would provide premium-free access to a public option -- with the full scope of Medicaid benefits -- for people who would otherwise qualify for Medicaid, but were denied access by governors and state legislatures.

As president, Biden will continue to defend our nation's commitment to older Americans and people with disabilities through Medicare, and he will keep Medicare as a separate and distinct program, and ensure there is no disruption to the current Medicare system.
