February is going to be a big month, John.

As the PA GOP has made abundantly clear through their continued disgrace in the state legislature, turnout for the upcoming Special Elections on February 7th in Allegheny county is absolutely critical to the progress of a reflective democracy in Pennsylvania. Our organizing team started GOTV efforts on Friday in McKeesport, West Mifflin, Clairton, Duquesne, Whitaker, Homestead, West Homestead and Port Vue by making sure voters know the stakes of these important elections. If Democrats win the three vacancies that they are expected to, they will have a constitutional majority in the state house which would bring progressive policies to the forefront in Harrisburg. This could finally mean movement on raising the minimum wage, adequate and equitable funding for education and even expanding voting rights.

Our January end-of-month deadline is almost here, and this will be our last major fundraising deadline before next week’s Special Elections.
