John,
We have momentum in our fight to defend the rights of immigrants and asylum seekers.
This past week, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bob Menendez, along with nearly 80 members of the House and Senate, delivered a letter to the Biden administration calling for an end to Title 42 and the newly revived Trump-era Transit Ban, which erode the legal right to seek asylum.
CHN helped in this effort, sending more than 14,000 letters to members of Congress urging them to sign on to this letter to the Biden administration.
Let’s keep the pressure on! Pitch in $5 today to demand the Biden administration end Trump-era border policies and protect the rights of immigrants and asylum seekers.

Enforcement measures that cut off asylum access at the border for thousands of migrants fleeing violence and disaster put many more people in danger―particularly Black, Indigenous, and LGBTQ+ people.
Thank you for all that you do for immigrant communities and the most vulnerable.

John,
Thousands of migrants are fleeing violence and poverty in their countries of origin, seeking a better life in the U.S.
Unfortunately, while the Biden administration has announced a new pathway for Cubans, Haitians, and Nicaraguans to enter the U.S., they’ve also expanded the Trump administration’s use of Title 42, which allows for the rapid expulsion of individuals back to those same countries without the opportunity to apply for asylum. And the administration has revived a Trump-era Transit Ban, which further erodes the legal right to seek asylum and puts many more people in danger, particularly Black, Indigenous, and LGBTQ+ people.
People fleeing for their lives have a legal right to seek safety. That’s why we’re fighting alongside Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Sen. Bob Menendez and other champions in Congress, demanding the cancellation of asylum bans now.
Last week, we sent more than 14,000 letters to members of Congress, urging them to sign on to the AOC-Menendez letter to the Biden administration, which reads:
“The administration’s announced border enforcement actions circumvent [domestic and international] law by not only expanding Title 42 beyond what is required by any court but by further implementing policies to deter and penalize people exercising their legal right to seek asylum at the border… We believe that your administration can and must continue to expand legal pathways for migrants and refugees into the United States – without further dismantling the right to seek asylum at our border.”
Thanks in part to our work, nearly 80 members of the House and Senate signed the letter, urging the Biden administration to cancel asylum bans now. Pitch in today to keep the pressure on the administration to end Trump-era border policies and defend the rights of immigrants and asylum seekers.

As a nation of immigrants, we must expand safe, legal pathways to the U.S. The right to seek asylum is a fundamental human right and we have a moral obligation to establish a system that treats all migrants in a safe and humane way.
Thank you,
