John,

2023 is now on pace to be one of the worst years for anti-LGBTQ legislation in American history.

  • In Wisconsin, Republicans just voted to overturn a ban on “conversion therapy.”
  • In Texas, Republicans have introduced multiple bills to limit and ban gender-affirming health care for trans kids.
  • In Iowa, Republicans have introduced their own version of Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which would limit curriculum around LGBTQ history in classrooms.

We’re still only in January, but over 100 anti-LGBTQ bills have already been brought before state legislatures across the country – with the majority of them targeting trans and LGBTQ youth.

It’s only a matter of time before we see bills aimed at restricting the rights and dignity of LGBTQ youth come to the House floor – and we need to be prepared to fight back. Pitch in $5 or more today to help us build our defenses and prepare to protect LGBTQ freedom in 2023.

This is not a drill, John. The far-right is more emboldened than ever, and they now hold more seats than ever in the 118th Congress.

The same extremist Republicans who held up the Speaker vote earlier this month in order to have more say over the legislative agenda in Washington will almost certainly bring homophobic, regressive, hateful legislation to the House floor in the weeks to come.

While these attacks are scary, I’m not one to back down from a tough fight. But facing a new Republican majority in Congress, it’s going to take all of us to stop these bills from passing. Help us mount our defenses and prepare to put a stop to this onslaught of anti-LGBTQ legislation by pitching in $5 or more today.
