GRASSROOTS SPOTLIGHT

SD State Director Shirlee Meier is pictured here talking to Rep. Tony Randolph. Shirlee is a true servant leader in South Dakota. She spent the past 2 weeks in the capitol, connecting with many legislators. This will be Shirlee's eighth legislative session with Convention of States. She has developed deep relationships with many legislators who now recognize her immediately. We are so grateful for Shirlee's hard work and dedication to COS!

Congratulations to Ohio RC Patti Buxton on being awarded the Patriot Pin!

"We are so blessed to have Patti Buxton as a volunteer in Ohio. She is a true servant leader. When the book is written about Convention of States, and we explain who our volunteers are there should be a picture of Patti Buxton's smiling face. Thank you, Patti, for so many years of service to Team Ohio." -Regional Director, Catherine Zemanek

Biden judicial nominee unable to recall what Article V of Constitution does ([link removed])

Judge Charnelle Bjelkengren of Spokane County Superior Court in Washington State was nominated by President Biden to serve on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) asked about the articles of the Constitution.

"Tell me what Article V of the Constitution does," Kennedy said to Bjelkengren.

After a long pause, the judge replied to Kennedy, "Article V is not coming to mind at the moment."
