My job here is to make sure we start off 2020 on the right foot. So we need to build some momentum in January.

That's why I'm reaching out with a request, and I hope you'll give me a moment to explain.

Our opponent recently made an urgent plea to outside conservative groups to get involved in our race. So we are setting an emergency goal of raising 2,500 donations this weekend to prepare for their next round of attacks.

Hitting this goal is so important -- especially now -- because this is one of the most closely watched Senate races in the country.

You can see how important this is. So here's the part where I ask:

Will you make a $3 contribution today to help us hit our 2,500 donation weekend goal? This is so important. We can't afford to come up short when our opponent is inviting outside groups into this race.

We need an enormous amount of resources to win this race, and it's going to take lots of people making donations of $3, $5, or $10 to get us there.

However, it's not just about how much money we raise, it's about the number of people who are chipping in to help us get there.
