John, U.S. Term Limits staff and volunteers are today battling across the country to impose term limits on the U.S. House and Senate. Here's where we stand at this hour: >>> Our Term Limits Convention Legislation has been introduced in thirteen states so far this calendar year. We must fight in every one of these states to bypass Congress and call the convention. Votes in these states are coming up! >>> Our term limits legislation has been submitted in both the U.S. House and Senate. They are H.J.Res 11 and S.J. Res. 2. >>> We have been promised a floor vote on term limits in the House. Next week we will launch an effort to make sure we get that vote and win it. The last vote on term limits in the House was in 1995! >>> In the Senate, we've started lobbying Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to allow a vote on term limits.
