Urgent: Assisted suicide debate in Parliament on Tuesday 23 January

17 January 2020

Dear supporter,

Assisted suicide is being debated in Parliament on Thursday 23 January.

Please email your MP and ask him/her to attend the debate and speak against legalising assisted suicide.

What is happening?

On Thursday 23 January at 3pm, Christine Jardine MP is introducing a Westminster Hall debate on assisted dying. Westminster Hall debates give MPs an opportunity to raise local or national issues and receive a response from a government minister. These debates cannot change the law and there is no vote. However, this debate is part of the assisted suicide lobby’s push to change the law, so it is vital that MPs attend and speak against it.

The 2 minute video below shows how assisted suicide would put disabled and vulnerable people in real danger.

What can I do?

Please email your MP and ask him/her to attend the debate and speak against legalising assisted suicide. Please forward the video below to your MP.

You can take points from SPUC's briefing on assisted suicide when you email to your MP.

Please act now to protect vulnerable people.

Yours sincerely,

Antonia Tully
Director of Campaigns
