This week in Congress, we passed H.R. 21, the Strategic Production Response Act, with my amendment successfully incorporated. H.R. 21 will unleash America's abundant fossil fuel reserves located under federal lands and waters, require the Biden administration to replenish and maintain the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, and adequately prepare us for true energy supply emergencies. My amendment to H.R. 21 will ensure the continuation of protecting Florida's coast from offshore drilling, which is essential for life here in Northwest Florida.
Moreover, on Thursday, I introduced the "PENCIL Resolution," expressing the Sense of Congress that Rep. Schiff should be barred from accessing all classified information, should be investigated by the House Ethics Committee, and should have all of his comments made during any Congressional proceedings regarding Russian collusion and the Trump campaign struck from the record. Speaker McCarthy kept his promise to remove Rep. Schiff from the Intelligence Committee. Full text of the PENCIL Resolution can be found HERE!

As the Congressman representing the beautiful Emerald Coast and the largest military district in the country, I take the topic of offshore drilling very seriously. Energy independence of the United States is essential, but we must refrain from allowing offshore drilling to interfere with the imperative training and military readiness activities in Northwest Florida.
On Thursday, the House of Representatives adopted my amendment to the Strategic Production Response Act, which protects the coasts of Florida from offshore oil drilling. Most of all, this includes preserving the Gulf Test Range – the only military test range of its kind in the world.

Ironically but unsurprisingly, those who perpetrated the Russian collusion hoax on the American people were the ones taking corrupt cash from Russia. This is precisely why Congressman Jim Jordan and I will hold hearings, bring whistleblowers forward, and demand answers to determine how deep this corruption goes.

Congressman Adam Schiff has proven to the American people that he cannot be trusted. On Fox News, I explained to Sean Hannity and Geraldo Rivera why I filed the "Preventing Extreme Negligence with Classified Information Licenses (PENCIL) Resolution." The resolution expresses the sense of the U.S. House of Representatives that Congressman Adam Schiff (CA-30) should not have access to classified information, should be investigated by the House Ethics Committee, and should have his comments made during any proceeding of Congress regarding Russian collusion and the Trump campaign be officially struck from the record.
Adam Schiff is indefensible. He made his career by leaking and then embroidering lies onto those very leaks. He can no longer be trusted by his colleagues in Congress or the American people.

On War Room this week, Steve Bannon and I discussed the arrest of former FBI Counter Intelligence official Charles McGonigal for colluding with Russian oligarchs, and the classified documents located in the home of Vice President Mike Pence.
The deep state is desperately trying to use their power to shape the 2024 presidential field to their liking. Their mouthpieces have been all over the media suggesting Pence will not have a special counsel appointed unless he runs for President – an obvious ploy to intimidate him from running because he hopes that a different Republican can defeat President Trump in the primaries. The deep state is against Biden too. They see him as weak and not a viable option to defeat President Trump in another general election, which is why they timed the release of the Biden documents to make him look as bad as possible.
Far more important than these frivolous document distractions is the fact that one of the main FBI agents involved in the Trump-Russia Witch Hunt was, himself, a Russian agent. His indictment indicates he may have begun the scheme to collude with Russian oligarchs while still employed with the FBI.

On Firebrand Episode 83, I sat down for an interview with Catalina Stubbe, National Director of the Hispanic outreach for “Moms for Liberty.” We discussed that public education reform is needed to stop the woke indoctrination in our children's schools.
I admire the advocacy work that “Moms for Liberty” has championed with great success in the Sunshine State. Unfortunately, parents do not trust their school systems with their children anymore. “Moms for Liberty” fights to bring back transparency within the education system. The Culture War starts in the classroom, and our children are on the front lines.
This slandering of the truth has conditioned young people from an early age to disrespect life, family, America, and God. We must restore the education system to a pro-family and pro-America institution to restore parents' faith in the public school system.

On Firebrand Episode 84, I analyzed the biggest story of the week revolving around the indictment of ex-FBI official Charles McGonigal. I also reacted to Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell's removal from the House Intelligence Committee, and discussed my plan to protect President Trump's offshore drilling ban in Florida. Here are some key points from the McGonigal case:
- McGonigal was in the D.C. field office when the Russia Hoax began and played a major role in its early stages.
- James Comey promoted McGonigal to the extremely coveted position of Special Agent In Charge (SAC) of the FBI's Counterintelligence Division in New York.
- In that role, he was supposed to pursue Russian oligarchs trying to evade sanctions and influence U.S. politics. Instead, he chose to betray his country and helped them avoid prosecution.
- In 2018, he left the New York office and went on to work for a private law firm that did compliance work for Russian oligarchs, which really means helping them evade sanctions. For this, he was paid $25,000 a month.
- Rather than using the law firm to funnel their money through, the Russians began funneling it through shell corporations set up by associates of McGonigal — shell corporations that were set up while McGonigal was still with the New York field office.
One of the top intelligence officials involved in the Russia Hoax, promoted by James Comey, was at some point turned by the Russian government. I, along with the House Judiciary Committee, have serious questions for Director Wray regarding this betrayal. When exactly was McGonigal turned by the Russians? What precautions are being taken right now to stop this from ever happening again? What other investigations were advanced or quashed on behalf of the Russians? Do we have sources that are actually ticking time bombs in terms of national security?
The FBI spent years accusing President Trump of being compromised when they were the ones who were, in fact, compromised. We must get to the bottom of this ultimate betrayal of the American people.

On Thursday, Congressman Tim Burchett joined me on Firebrand, where we discussed topics ranging from the Strategic Production Reserve addressed in H.R. 21, Biden's decision to send tanks to Ukraine, the debt ceiling, and UFOs!
Congressman Burchett and I discussed the controversy of sending weaponry abroad, specifically to Ukraine. Providing Abrams tanks as a method to virtue signal to other countries is not only an expensive mistake but a deadly one as well. We must consider where these tanks are going to be utilized. They are not going to be used to defend urban centers like Kyiv but will likely be positioned in the “ungoverned” Donbass region. Ultimately, we must bring an end to our engagement in the Ukrainian conflict.
CONGRESSMAN GAETZ COSPONSORS TWO VETERAN BILLS!
With more than 100,000 active-duty and retired military personnel residing in Northwest Florida, I am always proud to sponsor and cosponsor bills that put them first.
Earlier this week, I proudly cosponsored the Modern GI Bill Act. This legislation, introduced by Congressman Greg Steube, allows veterans entitled to post-9/11 educational assistance to use eligible funds to repay federal student loans incurred prior to military service. The bill will amend title 38, and it includes key limitations set to control costs while effectively assisting veterans. This includes:
- Not allowing the transfer of benefits to certain family members;
- The amount of spending would be on a Cost of Living Adjustment;
- An entitlement period of 36 months.
In addition, I also cosponsored the Support the Veterans Cannabis Use for Safe Healing Act. This bill makes a permanent legislative fix to the Veterans Health Administration's clinical programs to ensure veterans are not denied VHA services solely because they are participating in State-approved marijuana programs. Although the federal government's stance on medical marijuana is lagging, many states have begun to allow for the use of marijuana. Veterans deserve the right to consult with their VA doctors about their use openly without the threat of losing their benefits.
