John,

As a young girl, my parents worked hard to make sure each of my five siblings and I had what we needed to succeed. Their hard work and determination instilled in me the values of service, community, and education – values I still hold dear today.

I’ve served North Carolina for over 20 years, knowing that the same issues that troubled my parents were troubling all working families. I was determined to bring my experience serving on the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School Board, the Orange County Board of Commissioners, and in the North Carolina State House and Senate to bring relief and quality education to families in our community.

And today, as your representative, I reaffirm my commitment to putting working families first, reforming our criminal justice system, and protecting our environment.

Representing North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District is one of my life’s greatest honors. And it would not have been possible without your continued support.
