Youâre transforming lives!Urgent need ... act now to give hurting families hope.
Hi John,
My kids are adults now, but when I look back on my parenting journey, I can still remember the terror I felt each time I had to have “the talk” with one of them. “Awkward” doesn’t even begin to cover it.
Many of us have had the experience in our own adolescence of well-meaning parents trying to handle those conversations — and not quite succeeding.
We want better for our own children, and we might know in our hearts what we want to say. But maybe we don’t feel equipped with the right words and examples to express those thoughts without tripping all over ourselves in the process.
These conversations are about so much more than just explaining reproductive biology. They need to address bigger-picture concepts like friendships, bullying, healthy relational boundaries, and helping our kids embrace their God-given identity in a world of counterfeits.
That’s why I’d like to invite you to listen to today’s Focus on the Family® Broadcast as Jim Daly and I talk to a panel of seasoned parents. Ellen Slotman, Shawna Hudson, and Nick Dupont will describe how they each used our ministry’s Launch Into the Teen Years kit to facilitate potentially awkward and intimidating conversations with their kids — with strongly positive results.
