Hi John,
My kids are adults now, but when I look back on my parenting journey, I can still remember the terror I felt each time I had to have “the talk” with one of them. “Awkward” doesn’t even begin to cover it.
Many of us have had the experience in our own adolescence of well-meaning parents trying to handle those conversations — and not quite succeeding.
We want better for our own children, and we might know in our hearts what we want to say. But maybe we don’t feel equipped with the right words and examples to express those thoughts without tripping all over ourselves in the process.
