As we near the end of January and our first end-of-month deadline of the year, we've already seen the consequences of the GOP reclaiming the House majority.

The 118th Congress started in chaos taking four days and 15 ballots to elect a Speaker. It was an embarrassing spectacle that showed the world that Republicans are NOT fit to lead. To make it worse, Kevin McCarthy sold key appointments to the worst of the extremists in his party to buy their votes.

In their first month, House Republicans have proposed a sales tax of 30% that would be disastrous for working people, put our economy at risk by playing games with the debt ceiling, kicked Democrats off key committees, and passed cruel anti-abortion bills.

It's only been one month under the Republican majority, and it's clear that they care more about serving their special interest agendas than the American people.

Democrats need to win back the House in 2024 if we ever want to restore order and faith in our Congress. That's why it's so important that Diana has the resources on hand to continue standing up for you in Congress AND get ready for the battles ahead.
